That is pretty sad. Today I hung a small double bit hatchet. The eye of the head is not so normal. Marbles decided to essentially drill 3 overlaping holes through the head. So, two grooves had to be routed out on each side. In frustration, I started beating the head onto the new handle, yes it cracked a bit.
Now, I have filled it will Truebond wood glue, and just got back from the hardware store with some Rescue Tape. Will it work? I hope so, once the glue has dried, I'll wrap the $hit out of it with this self fusing tape. It's supposed to hold 950 PSI tensile strenght. Time and use will tell.
