I received one of my Saddle Tramps

Very nice and useful blade.

The Maroon canvas sure looks more like linen than canvas

here are a couple pics comparing it to other Busse-kin knives in the size range.

GSP w/black canvas and Mentor w/black g-10

Thanks for the photos. That's a pretty cool comparison with the GSP.

Mine shipped today, and I'm a little concerned because I ordered G10. All the handles I've seen people post look very smooth, so I hope they don't get too slippery when wet. Maybe I should have gone with Micarta like I usually do...

They are pretty smooth.
The Maroon canvas (only handle I have seen so far) is like linen more than canvas (kind of like g-10) and it seems fine.

The handle with its wider pommel should be fine.

What color g-10 ?
 
David, I got Green/Black G10, no choil. I think they hooked me with the pictures!

I think it'll be fine, too. I had a Funny Bone with G10 and the handle was great. It's a very comfortable shape and this should be a meatier grip.

That maroon looks nice, by the way.
