I'm wondering for comparison about my next purchase which would you get and why Sage 1 or 2? Post comparison pics. Thanks!

sage 2 because I prefer titanium framelocks over liner locks and thats the only reason why, they are both great knives

I personally like the Sage 2 the best, but you can't go wrong with either.
The Sage 2 is slightly thinner and has the assurance of a solid lock up due to your grip.

They are both great. I have owned many more expensive and cheaper knives but still consider the Sage I perhaps the best combination of weight, blade quality/sharpness, and ergonomics. Both are fantastic knives for the money.

You really can't go wrong with either. The blades are identical. Both exhibit comparably excellent fit and finish. Weight and thickness are close enough so that only those nearly fanatical about either would notice. In the end, it comes down to personal tastes and preferences. Of the two, I'd go with the Sage I simply because I find CF scales (and particularly those used on it), more attractive than plain metal handles and because RIL knives always look unfinished to me.

It doesn't matter which one you get, because once you get a Sage you will want to get the entire series.

+1 I have all three and each one has been my EDC for a while. The "3" is in my pocket now. Not sure why it doesn't get more accolades, the lock is fantastic and provides a super smooth action.

If you get both you can put the carbon fiber scale on the sage 2 and have a sweet combo:D.

I've had every Sage so far but still only have my trusty Sage 2 today. The lock up on my Sage 2, which I've had since the release of the Sage 2, is incredibly solid. Like my SMF and

Umnumzaan. Yet it releases so easily and without the slightest grab of the lock bar face. Truly a rock solid, one handed knife.

She's been through the washing machine and back too. She takes apart and goes right back together with that same old dead centered blade and great action every time.

I'm hopin to like the Sage 2 as well as everyone else in this discussion, ordered one this morning. Can't wait.

I'm thinking the blue handles on the Sage 3 put some people off. I kind of like it and goes pretty well with a pair of jeans :). It is certainly sheeple friendly.

I really like the blue of the Sage 3, plus the fact that the bolt lock is friendly for both hands. The slightly taller profile and exposed hump near the tang was what turned me off, though. It wrecked the nice lines of the first two Sages.

I like the bolt lock better than the ball bearing type. You can unlock the sage 3 from one side similar to the Axis lock on the BM's. I need to pull on both sides for the bearing lock.

I like the Sage 3 too but the bolt action lock along with Axis locks, are just a hole for pocket lint and dirt to accumulate inside to me. And since disassembly is a no no to the MFG's anymore I prefer the Sage 2's simplicity because it disassembles and reassembles as easily as any locking folder possibly could. And I like the option of taking down my knives without a big caveat about warranties to worry about when possible . . .

Any knife the size of a Sage is stretching to be a "hard use" knife so since it is a general, medium duty EDC to me, I prefer the ease and simplicity of the Ti framelock on the Sage 2. Between the 1 and 2, I like the feel of the 2 in my hand so that is what I decided to keep forever but the Sage 1 is a fine EDC too!

I picked the 2 because I have a Sebenza and really like the locking system. So I just thought the idea of having a Spydie with the same lock would be nice. I went back and forth between the 1 and 2, never really considered the 3 because I don't like the handle color or the lock. Just MHO.

Get both! :) I have all three, but the Sage 1 and Sage 2 are among my favorite Spydies.
