Sage 1 vs Sage 2

If I like my 2 I will more than likely go ahead and order a 1. I really like the look of the handle on that one.

Oh you will... Go ahead and put the $ back for it. Lol. I love the 1 and 2, but traded my 3. The lock was very stiff on mine and it seemed bulkier than the first 2.

I don't have anything to add to the discussion - other than the fact that you will love any of the three in the series so much that you'll be back for the rest. Guaranteed. They are great knives.

Well I've had my Sage 2 for a few days now and everyone was right, they are really good knives. I really like the grip I can get to make fine cuts with the tip. I may at some point get a "1" but not the "3". Just dont like the look of the handle color or the lock.

I picked up a Sage 1 a couple months ago and have been really enjoying the knife. It fits my needs for a small edc nicely when I don't feel like carrying something larger like my Paramilitary 2 etc.

I'm sure the Sage 2 is great as well, but I picked the Sage 1 because I prefer a liner lock over a framelock and I'm a sucker for nice carbon fiber handles.

I have been extremely impressed with the overall fit and finish of this little beauty.

I own both, but if I had to choose one over the other, the sage 2 has my vote. It is the perfect marriage of function and form. Its simple elegance leaves me in awe. There is something special about it being all metal...If you could hold both before you purchase, you'd understand. I bought the sage 1 and liked it so much that I had to have the sage 2.

I just bought my first Sage 2 (I already had a Sage 1), and it is just a remarkable knife. I think the Sage is just about ergonomically perfect for me, and has a nice usable blade size while still being reasonably sized for daily carry. I prefer the aesthetics of the Sage 1, but the bank-vault solid feel of the Sage 2 is just fantastic, and unlike some all-ti handles I don't find it slippery (partly due to the bead-blasted finish but mostly due to the great ergonomics of the design). I love this thing!

If I have a criticism, I don't like the font the "TAICHUNG TAIWAN" is written in - it kind of highlights the Taiwanese construction. I am happy to economically support Taiwan and don't fault its products at all (I have loved all my Taiwanese Spydies), but the "TAICHUNG TAIWAN" is the one slightly low-rent touch on what otherwise feels like a premium product.

I'd love to see some sprint-run Sages that dress up the design a bit - maybe some wood or leather inserts on the Sage 2. I know Spyderco has always been about function over form, but a prettier Sage would be a nice alternative.
