sage 2 or gayle bradley help me choose!!! :D

Both. :D

Seriously, if you like both, and have the money, buy both of them. You will eventually end up with them, so why not at the same time? I have done that a few times.

lol youre probably right, but which should i buy "first"? lol, my fiance would kill me with my own knives if i bought both of them at once.

Light-Medium use blade vs. Hard Use blade.
s30v vs. M4
Sage 2 smaller knife lighter, GB bigger heavier knife.

I would narrow down to the intended purpose.

I have both and love both. I favor a the Sage 2 however because it fills a nich I don't have much of, a extrememly well made gentlemans folder. It's a solid knife for those times you just want to carry a knife with no self defense in mind. It's been said and I agree to an extenet, its a poor mans Sebbie. You reallly don't give much up to the sebbie with the Sage 2. Its a beautiful knife. That being said, the GB is one of favorites as well but it fits the last ditch defense nich a bit more..

I don't have a Sage, but I do have a GB. The GB is a very well made knife, very strong, that looks great as well. M4 is about my favorite steel, it takes a licking and comes back for more. I've worked my GB hard, and I'm very satisfied with its performance. It looks great doing just about anything. Or nothing at all.

Go with the sage 2 as the GB looks retarded. Seriously I really do hate the look of the GB.

The sage is a great knife plus it's a Ti framelock

intended use would be another fun knife to slip into edc rotation. i use my knife daily for breaking down cardboard boxes, cutting plastic straps, shrink wrap, etc etc (i work in shipping/receiving). im still in search of "the one knife" that fits me. how does the m4 on the gb compare to cpm s30v?

lol, thats rather subjective as i like the looks of both knives (maybe the gayle bradley a tiny bit more)
how does the lockup compare between the two? ive heard both are pretty solid and the liners on the gb are rather stout.
i know this may sound dumb, but for those who own both... which one cuts better out of the box?

I have neither. I love the Sage 3, want the Sage 1, but the Sage 2 really doesn't trip my trigger like the rest. Maybe I just don't like the Ti Handles, but the blade is great on all 3 sages. The GB is just a better choice of the two IMHO. I prefer the look, shape, handle material, blade steel, and lockup of the GB over the Sage2.

GB all the way, man

how does the edge hold on the m4? how well does it sharpen up? thanks in advance andy :)

I have them both, I like the Sage 2 better it's the more pocket friendly knife IMHO easier in/out, lighter, the frame lock is easier to unlock, love the design all around better for me anyhow, the only thing that concerns me ( just a very little bit) with the Sage 2 is the long term durability of the titanium face on the lock, the part that holds the blade open, I'm sure at some point it will start to have a little wear on it,where as the GB stainless liner-lock has an edge in that area durability-wise,but I do love the cpm-m4 of the GB,also I think the resale factor for the Sage might be a little better.

I have a Sage 1 and have also considered the GB.. if it were me I'd get the GB first, carry that big ol knife around a while, then down the road get a sage and I'll bet you money the GB will be in the drawer most the time :D

you win either way....

Good choice! I have a GB as well, it's been a very impressive knife so far in day to day use and the carbon fibre handle scales look sweet... It seems to be aging gracefully, as in, not showing scratches too easily on the CF or frame.

Makes a good back up to my S30V millitary. :)

behold... my new gayle bradley in all its glory!!! im really digging this knife so far. the textured carbon fiber scales are great!!! you've really gotta have one in your hands instead of reading about it to understand how well made the scales are. i received a newer one with drilled out liners and this thing locks up rock solid. sadly, the first hit this knife takes is disengaging the lock bar is a pain in the ass!!! wished they recessed the opposite liner and scale to give better access :/

my edc today:

Excellent choice. I think the GB is the much better knife. It's one of the only ones out there that takes full advantage of the supersteel; because M4 is so tough they were able to make the edge 2 hundredths of an inch thick. That means it has some serious slicing power without risking damage to the edge. Plus, the CF scales are quite nice, and the overall build is top notch.

I've often stated that the GB is the best $130 knife on the planet. The M4 over s30 is way more than reason enough, but the GB has it all. If I lost mine, and had no money, I'd start selling my Spydercos until I could buy another.

I've seen several GBs with handle modification to allow better accsess to the lock. Mine is better for that slight mod.
