I love mine. I don't EDC it but I carry it on semi special occasions, going out in town, etc.

Beautiful indeed and great pics. I hear so many wonderful things about it that the Sage 2 will be my next Sage purchase :)

The only thing better would be if Chris Reeve used the design and put his pivot and lock up into it.
A small Sebenza with the ergos and blade of the Sage. And while we're dreaming, S90V would be nice too. :D

i never got used to the look of spyderco knives with their spydie hole etc....but the sage 2 has been on my radar.

True the lock is a bit sticky. Seems to be getting better with use.

I like that it has the essence of the Sebenza, but clearly the identity of a Spyderco.

My sage 2 has become my favorite spyderco after I stonewashed the blade and hardware, my particular example is as flawless as I can imagine any production knife could be. Absolutely smooth as glass and rock solid. The lock does take a while to break in nicely though, but I suppose that is to be expected with most ti framelocks.

too bad they didn't think of reinforcing the lockbar with stainless steel like with the ti military. i want the make the sage 2 a beater.

but then, i might just be talking mythology. sage 2 owners: how's the ti lockbar holding up to wear?

I like mine. Sadly it's showing some rust but I live in a humid climate so even s30v will rust in the summer. The lock is slightly sticky but the blade sharpens up nicely and there's no blade play whatsoever. It's a great knife and I really like the design. Definitely a keeper.

The Lock Bar Is Excellent, The Lock Up Is Smooth, As Is The Action, The Click When It Locks Is Amazing, And The Ergos Are Second To None. As Is The Fit And Finish.

I Love Mine A LOT But It May Go To A New Home Soon Because I Just Don't Carry It Enough. I Find Myself Carrying And Using The Hell Out Of My Chokwe. And Sadly If It's Not Being Used - It Moves On. Unless It Was A Gift. Gifts Stay.

Ok of the best Ti locks I've ever used. It has never gotten sticky, nor has it moved inward lessening the life of the lock.

I cant say the same for my Strider and CRK's ;).

The "poor" man's sebenza.
The Sage 2 is definitely in its own world at that price range. What a gorgeous, yet simple design.
I say this everytime I discuss the Sage series, but it does fit my hand like a glove and rides so thin and light-weight in the pocket.
Great EDC!

My sage2 had about 40-50% lockup when brand new, after literally thousands of opening/closings using mostly the middle finger flick mine has settled in nicely at around 60% lockup and has not moved since. My lock was a bit sticky for the first week or so but a little pencil lead on the lock face solved that almost instantly and it has been perfect ever since. Like I said before, I stonewashed the blade and hardware and in the stone washing process I must have removes any tiny burrs around the pivot because she came out considerably smoother after the stone washing.

Yep some pencil doodling on the steel at the lock up spot helped remove the sticky lock bar on mine too.

Very nice pictures indeed. I love my sage 1, peel ply carbon fiber is tasty. Ive always been curious why the grind lines on s30v out of taiwan are so much rougher looking than golden models. I kinda want to polish my sages blade.
