Sage 5 has a through-the-blade stop pin as well as a normal one - (PICS)

I m right handed, but , I find the compression lock to be very easy to use with my left hand.

The lock tab on mine is so strong I'm getting a blister on my index finger.
Anyone else having the same problem? What can be done about this?
Thanks for any ideas.

Why the double stop pins??
Based on what the Deacon has reported, it seems that the external pin is there as an anvil for the compression lock mechanism, but doesn't actually contact the blade. The internal stop pin is what sets the limits of blade rotation.

Do you like it a lot David?
How is the texture on the scales?

David sold his, but I like mine a lot,
fit and finish are spectacular, action is as smooth as silk, and I highly recommend the Sage 5 if you can find one.
I nailed mine in the second shipment that Blade HQ received last week

Maybe its redundancy in the stop pin since Spyderco knows comp locks get played with and flicked a lot? I gotta agree with the Compression Lock anvil idea for the external pin and the internal being the actual blade stop.

Either way, I want to see more internal stop pins go this route. Instead of hogging out huge channels in the blade weakening it, put channels in the liners and have a solid pin through the blade. Best of both worlds!

+1 on that. Seems like a much better way to accomplish the same thing.
