Sage I

Sage I for EDC, Bradley for bigger jobs. That's my setup for now. Love it. Can't see a better combination.

To tell the truth, thats all a fella really needs.I have waaay to many knives, its a bugger, trying to figure out which ones to carry. :o

That's right. If a person has too many knives, it's quite hard to build a daily relationship with each & every one of them 'cos we just can't carry them all.. :o

With that said, a Millie is in my radar still.

ive been getting back into spydercos lately again (have a Manix 2 HXP on the way!) and ive fallen in love with the sage I and II. i feel like i "need" the sage II and the caly 3 in carbon fiber and ZDP 189 steel.

BUT, i dont see why i shouldnt just go ahead and get the sage I also.....

Well, I've had the Sage2 and the Caly3 cf and prefer the Sage1 over either by a considerable margin. Does that help? :D

honestly.......NO

ill just get them all and decide for myself :D

but i love to talk about knives! what did you like more/dislike about each knife that made you feel you liked the S1 better?

The biggest factor for me was that it fills my hand better than the 2 and way better than the Caly3. It also has the nicest scales of the three IMO. I find the liner lock easier to operate one handed than the frame lock or back lock. Doesn't hurt that it's the cheapest of the three either.

here is my reasoning

sage 1 - nicest carbon fiber scales on a spyderco IMO, frame lock looks nice, functional, black clip for "stealth" use and dress up use. but it has a S30V blade and frame lock and i have plenty of those.

sage 2 - frame lock like higher end knives (sebenza, strider), titanium handles, strong frame lock, but, again, S30V.

caly 3 - has nice CF scales, has ZDP steel (i dont have any in ZDP yet, but i will :D ), but i dont prefer the back lock on a knife
