Sage Rage

I have a Sage 2, and like it a lot because of its simplicity, just 2 slabs of ti, a blade and a clip. Its a rinse and forget knife in terms of corrosion resistance, so it sees a lot of fruit processing. Works well as an office knife with the deep carry wire clip, especially when wearing brown Chinos.

Fit and finish is exceptional for the price, it came absolutely flawless from the Taiwan factory.

Earlier this week:

Was handling a 2 in the store and am going to buy it soon for the reasons you highlighted.. bought the 3 first because I didn't have a quality bolt action folder in the collection.

You can see that I love these Sages also. Had a lot more than I needed, as I never carry the 3" models.
The first pic is Sage 2's; the second is Sage 3 in carbon fiber and blue G-10, followed by a Sage 2. Yes, this is a great series.

Did you keep the beauty in blue? Wish they were still being made.. would have probably bought the blue over the carbon fiber cuz the Sage 1 also is carbon fibre.

The Sage 1 got me into knives years ago. I absolutely love it and have carried it every day for a long time. The wire clip never tears jeans, dress pants etc.. yet never falls out. its big enough to get the job done but not scary enough to freak people out when I use it. I have purchased Sage 2s and recently picked up a sage 3 however after carrying the sage 1 the sage 3 feels bigger and heavier in hand and in pocket ( not many people mention this ). I was really hoping they would be identical size at least, the weight isn't as important to me. I prefer the standard carbon fiber style over the cubic check. I will soon be purchasing a Sage 4 to complete the collection ( for now ).

image.jpg I too love the Sage series . I thought I read somewhere that Spyderco was planning to add 3 more .

The sage knives are so under-rated! Here are mine. I stonewashed my sage 2, i think it looks pretty cool.

I love my Sage 1. I carry it when I'm in my business suit. I really want to pickup the 2 at some point.

Had the sage 2 for about 3 weeks now, couldn't be happier. Nice mid size knife with a super sharp leaf blade. Simple build, clean lines, light. Wanted one for a long time. Spyderco classic for sure. Question, why do some have an extra etching on the Spyderco logo side? First production run?

I carried a sage one a few years back and i loved the ergos and the fit and finish. my problem was with the width of the blade and the edge geometry. I wasn't as skilled or have the tools to change it so i traded it. I miss it (along with almost every spyderco i've traded) I would love to have one again, i think it is a better entry to the higher end of knives than alot of others even the other spydercos mention in the OP
