SAK- Alox Soldier

With SAKs the idea of raising eyebrows with "sheeple" isn't even a thought that crosses my mind anymore. Going to have to remember that whenever I order my Buck-Strider. :)

the victorinox alox handled saks are really great knives. over the years i've got to where i'll only buy the alox scaled knives. they seem almost bulletproof. later, ahgar

I like my Wenger Soldier because of the stronger backsprings than usual SAKS and that it is grippier. More of a "hard-use" SAK, IMO.

It is funny that you should mention that, as I have my eye on one of those too!!

I own a Soldier and love my EDC Bantom.

I'd love to see Victorinox offer their alox line with cork screws. Some potential name ideas could be "Soldier on Leave" or "Tired Farmer" and a beefier soldier sized Bantom..

I own a couple Soldiers and a Pioneer with red alox handles (I got it at a clearance at a B&M store locally some years ago). Basically the same knife as the Soldier but with a key ring and the Swiss cross design a slightly different. I don't know if the Pioneer is made in red anymore(?).
This is really an obsession; I find myself wanting to get one of the silver Pioneers, but since i'm more tight with $ now, I can't decide between that or a Swisstool X (the one with the scissors, is that what it's called?).

Though I usually carry a Classic and a Tinker these days, I rarely have use for the Phillips driver on the Tinker's back, and the Pioneer/Soldier's awl is superior to the Tinker's. And of course, the alox models are so rugged and more sleekly built. That's my problem with Victorinox: so many great models that I love, and it's hard to decide which regular-sized one to EDC! And you can't find better consistent quality at such low prices than a Vic SAK! Best slipjoint pocketknives in the world (IMO).

I have a Soldier and a Pioneer Solo. Both are great knives but my heart beats for cellidor. :p

I love the Alox knives. You can almost always find new and used alox knives in silver and red at felinevet.sosakonline.com
