SAK bash!

By the way, I read through her trail journal for the Pacific Crest Trail. She routinely hiked 20-30 miles per day. I don't know her, but she looks like an ordinary girl next door to me. I have read before that after they get conditioned to the trail, through hikers do incredible distances.

From the Challenge Point Facebook page. Larry has already done the AT, and is hiking the PCT with a group off friends from his AT thruhike.
They were in Oregon, and should have broken 1750 miles Friday or Saturday.

April 28.
Day 2- Spent the day at the Kick Off Festival. I woke up wondering how I was supposed to hike the next 2,630 when the first 20 miles kicked my tail. Fortunately Jelly Bean (who has hiked this trail) showed up and schooled us. I mailed at least 15 pounds of stuff home today. Trail life just got real...

Day 3- Hiked 18 miles, I felt much better. Happy that Jelly Bean made me downsize. Jangles and H-Bomb have heel blisters but are soldiering through.

May 7.
Spent last night on a windy ridge around mile 130. If we survive the night, our hope is to be in Idlewild on Tuesday. Maybe, just maybe I can get my first shower since leaving Alabama.

May 21.
Today, we are hiking 22 miles up hill (5,400 ft elevation gain) through poisonous poodle bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turricula_(plant)), without any water sources. It could be worse...?

July 28.
In Chester, CA, celebrating making it to the halfway point (1332 mile mark). Last week, I hiked 37 miles in one day, not on purpose.

August 4.
Around mile 1430 just past Burney Falls State Park. Spent yesterday hiking a 27 mile water-less stretch on lava rocks. It was almost worse than the desert.
