SAK in Alox???

So are the SAK in Alox (not silver) sprint runs, or exclusives? Or am I looking in the wrong parts to get one?

As far as I know, there are multiple SAK models available with the ALOX scales. The limited editions come in with certain colors. For example, orange.

As both Quiet and Spikebot mentioned, Victorinox makes several regular production Alox models like the Farmer, Pioneer, Cadet, etc, in various colors. I've got 2 black Pioneers, a silver, a red and a blue Farmer, and have seen black, toxic green and I think orange. I recall there was a Black "Ted Nugent" edition Farmer.
Swissbianco (Roger) has a relationship with Victorinox where he was having factory made limited runs done in various colors. I believe this has been popular enough that recently Victorinox started offering these special color runs themselves. For example, the MiniChamp was originally only available with the cellidor (plastic) scales. SB did a few limited runs in silver then other colors (I bought one of the silver ones) and now Vic is producing them on a larger scale. I've seen orange, toxic green and other colors of various Alox models through SB and Vic (can't remember off hand who was offering which models but they're out there).

I forgot to mention, if you've got the interest and coin, Syph007 here on the forums does custom alox mods (some really nice ones too I might add). You can check out this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...II-Alox-and-Ti-conversions-Pic-Heavy-examples

and website www.SAKMODDER.com. I hope to have him take some of my money soon!

There's a nice dealer exclusive Victorinox Farmer Orange ALOX 91mm that came out last week.

I had not seen the modder site - wild.

Yeah he does some sweet work. I've got a custom farmer from retired modder "scibeer" from Knife Forums which I love but Syph007 has taken SAK modding to another level IMHO. I love that he uses removable Torx screws instead of the traditional pins to hold everything together.

Which one is this? I'm seeing one on a particular site that lists as being a 93mm. Orange Farmer, seems to be the knife pictured?

That's the regular size 93mm Farmer. I believe the 91mm SAKs are the ones that are originally cellidor scaled but are modded with the Alox scales instead. Like the Vic Huntsman sized SAKs but with Alox instead of cellidor. The only thing with these is that when you add the Alox scales you lose the tweezers, tooth pick, safety pin, pen, and what ever other accessories that are built into the cellidor scaled models.

I'll throw in my 2 cents for Syph as well. He has made me many different configurations and colors. Top notch work. I'm sending another box to him in the morning actually.

Google: "Victorinox Farmer Orange ALOX 91mm" and you'll find the dealer. Once you find the dealer Google the dealer's name and "free shipping coupon code".

Is 91mm the blade length? When I measure the blade it's only like 71mm! What does Victorinox measure to come up with 91mm?

Didn't know that version of the Farmer was available. Thank you. I have one ordered.

Thanks for the info I've been looking for this exact sak since fathers day, had given up hope and would've ended up with a boring silver one.:D

Glad to help.

By the way, I asked Victorinox what the 91mm is and they said: "91mm refers to the length of the Farmer when it is closed."

Anyway, I measured it with my digital calipers and I come up with 92.7mm. So, those who said 93mm seem more correct!

Awesome. As I had said, I did a quick search on Extra Big Auction Yaknow? site and found auctions that stated both 91mm and 93mm, that appeared to be the same knife.

P.S. I've given paying vendors a LOT of business, so I don't think it's a violation for me to be discussing this.
