I'd heard the shuttle astronauts carried swiss army knives, so I checked and sure enough . .

On orbit, optional clothing and equipment include underwear, urine collection devices, eyeglasses, communications headset, emesis bag, flashlight, Swiss army knife, kneeboard, pens and pencils, stowage bags, watches and food and drink containers.

But which one? Is it issued or more a personal choice type of thing?

Hello!

You might want to check this out.

Just for a little CQB with any pesky aliens perhaps??

(just noticed that the lobks don't work for the pictures of the knives but hopefully the information will come in handy anyway)

Multi-Tools are good, and one of those links speak to Leatherman's in space.

But, I would say that a multi-tool, to a large extent, is simply a mutation of a SAK.
