SAK Models With Saws

I agree that the three best tools on a SAK are the scissors, saw and corkscrew(when you need one you really need one :)

Is there one with a corkscrew, saw and scissors on it in a 2 layer package?

Sorry mate, it's just not possible. The saw and scissors take up one layer each, and the blade (with corkscrew) layer is another. Unfortunately Victorinox don't even make that.:( It was my desire to have such a SAK that first got me into modding.

My "Huntsman Slim" mod.

Sorry for the crappy pic, I really should take a new one.

Now that is near perfect. If they made it I bet it would do great things for the sale figures.

Thanks mate, I get the feeling that Vic aren't that keen on the 91mm Combi tool though. The Compact and the Timekeeper (which is just a Compact with a watch in the scales) are the only SAKs that still has it. Both the Yeoman and the Scientist are now long discontinued.:(

If you ever have to quarter and elk or deer, you'll appreciate the hell outa that little saw. Now a corkscrew? That's another question altogether. The Huntsman and the Fieldmaster are the same tool except for a phillips screwdriver instead of a corkscrew on the Fieldmaster. Otherwise they are identical.

I love your "Huntsman Slim" -- very nice!

I've got a Climber Plus (looks factory, but I'm pretty sure it's an aftermarket mod, with Compact scales and the pen/pin extras that come with them). It's great, but:

How hard would it be to convert the layer with two openers (can and bottle) into a saw with the slim combo opener (a la Waiter)?

Any tips?

While the Combo tool won't fit opposite the saw (it really can only fit in place of the small blade) doing your own mod isn't that hard at all. A few basic tools and a little practice and you'll be fine. Here is a link to a "how-to" guide I did a little while back, if you read on through the thread there is also a list of what tools can go where.

The Saw is my main reason i bought a Victorinox . If I'm not mistaken, the Wenger Saw are not as sharp.

I use my Victorinox quite often for sawing off bamboos (in access of 2 inch diameters) as we make lots of gadgets in my scouting/camping days as I live in tropical country, loads of bamboos here. The Victorinox saw can even outperform some of those huge woodsaw (maybe cos my scout group then couldn't afford expensive ones)

The only down side is that stupid fella i borrowed the SAK used the saw to saw some steel pipes blunting the saw... Anyone knows a good and effective way to sharpen it back?
