I got a Leatherman Kick a couple days ago and have been carrying it clipped to the back left pocket. It's very light and I barely notice it's there. I'm a skinny guy, so the far edge of my pocket is off of the chair when I sit--I'm not so sure how well this method would fare for larger folk.
A couple of thoughts and impressions on the Kick: The fit and finish is definitely below that of the old school Leathermans. I have a Flair, and have handled dozens of supertools and the like, and this is a cut below. The blade didn't come very sharp, the tools are very stiff and clumpy and a few more things have been left rough. That said, it's very solidly built. The tools snap open with a solid click, and there's no play in any of them. I have a SOG Powerlock and I trust the pliers and cutters on the Kick more than on the SOG. The Zytel handles are very comfortable, even under a lot of pressure.
If you plan on using the LM clip, be prepared to tweak. When I installed it just as it came, it was extremely loose. The tab that keeps it from rotating too far didn't do much of anything, and the screw didn't even contact the clip. When installed like this, the clip could freely move in about a 30 degree arc and visibly and audibly moved when the tool was moved. To fix this, I bent the clip down just below the screw hole so the clip would contact the screw and bent the tab over more so it would more easily contact the side of the tool. I screwed it down tight with some Loctite in there and everything is solid now.
Overall, it's a well built tool that'll get the job done. It's nice knowing I have pliers, can opener, and screwdrivers I can rely on right at hand. Still, at ~35 dollars with the clip, you get what you pay for. It might not be the slickest or prettiest tool, just one that will do what's needed when it's needed.
