I took this knife with me today, on a long day hike, my feet hurt, but I can say one thing, this is one fine knife! I bought the plainedge version. I really liked the one hand opening, and also the locking blade. I cut limbs out of the trail, peeled a apple, and the knife did all of these perfect. I was thinking about trying to get the farmer SAK, but may save up and get another one of these, with the serrated blade for work. Has anyone else tried one?:)

i've owned one for a while and its a fine knife. the thing i like about it best is that the one hand opening feature makes it easy to open it in winter with two hands and gloves on.

congrats on the fine knife.

The OHT is a great knife for hikers and campers. I have had mine for years and carry it every day. It may be the most useful knife you can buy for the money.

I've got one of Swiss Bianco's OHT's with the stayglow scales. This one will never get sold. Great knife!

Yes the are a great knife, I had an OHT fireman model, but took the serrations off, much better now.:D

I've heard the OHT's are pretty stiff to open, almost too much so. Have you guys found this to be the case? I love the Rucksack that Riley gifted to me, so I'd been contemplating trying the OHT-PE since it came out.

I have both versions and they are great knives. If I had to I could get by with one of those for just about everything.

They make one without serrations? Scott Gossman took the serrations off of mine.

I have taken it with me on several hikes. Great knife.

Both of mine were stiff when new but broke in fairly quickly.

Mine is good but I had to cut the lanyard ring off, and would really prefer if it had a small blade as well. Mine was not glass smooth but I would not say it was overly stiff either.

it is my edc now, i have a military match attached to the key ring. this is the smallest survival kit i could devise.

Mine opens smooth. I put some breakfree on the pivot. They make plainedge, and serrated.

I like my serrated OHT Bundeswehr issue knife. It has handled pretty much all of my field needs since I bought it a couple years or so ago. A plain edged OHT has been thrown about here for awhile now. This is the first I've read of them selling one though. Guess I need to spend some money and get one.

Just checked out the Victorinox website, but didn't see the Trekker. Did I just miss it, or are they phasing out the Trekker.

I picked up a OHT PE model . I like it and carry it from time to time,I find it a bit heavy for pocket carry, need to get a belt sheath for it...Great knife will snag another...

It's been my EDC for a couple of years now. I liked it enough to buy a backup. Now that I hear they're making a plain edge model, I'll probably pick up a couple of those.

I never had stiff-opening issues until I neglected it and let it get gummed up with pocket lint. The main blade started bringing the sawblade with it when I did the OHO thing. A good cleaning and lube took care of it.
