SAK one handed trekker

We've two other threads on this I believe, but I have one, nice knife! it's just enough of a knife and tool combo.:D

Got two.

Out of the 111 mm SAK's, this is the only one in my collection I use. A great knife for hiking.

I put a pocket clip on mine, now it's my EDC. What could be more perfect- all the right tools, plus pocket clip and one-hand open like a Spyderco or BM? Doesn't open as smooth, cause it's still a slipjoint, granted. But small price to pay.

Only thing I don't like is the plastic scales. So as soon as I get my hand on some decent wood, I'm gonna make wood scales for it. THEN it will be the perfect knife:cool: .
Did it here, then traded: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=368694

And the price is definately right! Get one, that's what I say.

Along with a small pocket fixed blade, my OHT is my latest EDC. This combo replaced a Benchmade 940, a long-time favorite. I got mine from QVC. I saw them at Target last week for $25 (or perhaps $25.99.)

I use the trekker as an edc and it has really come in handy.great knife, inexpensive, top quality, nothing negative to say.

i got also a BM940 as EDC ... and a SAK trailmaster when going in woods "mushrom"'s hunting !:D
Really nice knive (what's the difference between the trakker and the trailmaster ? corkcrew vs Phillips screwdriver:confused: )

When I got my Trailmaster and later a One-handed Trailmaster, they very soon after changed the name of the one-hander to Trekker, and I believe soon after that did the same to the one that takes two hands. Just a name change.

... but (there's always a "but") I'd prefer to have scissors instead of the wood saw (i don't really have any branches to saw in my everyday life).

it has a little blade play but all the ones i looked at (3) had a little but as soon as you put a little back force on the blade it goes away if you push down on the blade in the locked position you can feel it. I am just going to look over that as i feel it is in the design. anybody else have that problem gosh i hope im not the lone ranger...p

Mine has a little play and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I really don't think that it is something that you should be concerned about.

that wood saw cuts like the devil though...i got scissors on my super tinker which i usually have around too

The OHT is an awesome SAK. All locking SAKs (with Wengers Sécurité models being the exception) have a little vertical blade play because they are still slipjoints with an added safety feature. The locks are safe, though.

I've been using the OHT for while and I really like it, I took the serrations of mine (it's easy) and I love it. I carry it with a Vic Executive for the scissors and the all important orange peeler.

yea i have barely some vertical and a little more horizontal but like i said the horizontal goes away with a little back pressure

Hey Guys..

I have two of them..
The only thing I dislike about the knife is the serrations close to the tip..

The knife would get used 100% more if there were no serrations on it,, or at least at the back of the blade...

Nice little knife though..
