i recieved the SAK in the giveaway recently, with the condition that i mod it for bushcraft and post about it here.
here is the knife, with the freshly sharpened edge:
a couple of mods were already somewhat started, i mostly just finished them.
i ground the flat head screwdriver into a small chisel, and used it to carve out a small bowl in a stick, just to test it out. very good performance:
the nailfile blade had been filed a little bit. i ground the tip sharp, to use for cleaning nails and for a second awl. i ground the edge to a sharp almost 90 degree angle. it strikes sparks and scrapes wood smooth very well. it also pokes great holes and it cleans nails superbly:
perhaps the most important mod though: i ground the tweezers to a fine point for picking out all those pesky little splinters and metal bits that get stuck in my fingers:
it is now a perfectly ready knife for the bush.
thanks very much for the knife and the opportunity!
