SAK Scales?

I dislike the Corkscrew on the 91mm SAK. Are there any plain scales available so I can dispense with the CS on a custom SAK build I’m planning?

I've seen some aftermarket 91 mm scales at the big auction site (buy it now) that don't have the corkscrew/phillips cutout.
Various materials; carbon fiber, brass, titanium, wood, and aluminum.
SOME come with chicago screws to install them.
IF you are taking the knife apart, they might be a viable choice? The chicago screws are the correct diameter for the pivots.
I believe they give a choice on length for however many layers you are working with.

You might also consider contacting some of those who 3D print the scales, to see if they can make a set without the cutout.

Are you going to retain the side tools?

Even if you find or make a custom cover without that cutout, the scale and spring for that layer will still have it. Unless you are planning to delete the blade layer, you'll be stuck with a gap where the corkscrew was, or you'll have to design and build a new spring.

It’s a valid point but I’m not sure it would be an issue for me. The other springs are below the level of the liners and scales anyway.

Thanks. Yes, I’ve seen some of the third party ones but the better ones are quite expensive. Yes, I’d like to retain the scale mounted tools. As well as the tweezers and toothpick I’d like to add the Victorinox pen.

A custom set from a 3D printer on the big auction site or the related site that starts with "et" might be your only hope.
AFIK all the factory "PLUS" scales with the pen slot have the cutout.
(I don't recall if any of the no cutout aftermarket scales have the pen slot. Heck, just the two side tool slots were rare.)

If you keep the blade layer, you’ll need something to fill the back tool spot. It’s required to keep the back spring in place and tensioned.
