SAK steel type

hey all,
i found a SAK explorer (the old type with grey and glass magnifying glass) in my wifes parents house. im wondering what type of steel victorinox use?

It is similar to 12C27M. My impressions are that it is proprietary or multi source. www.cutleryscience.org has a listing of its purported composition under the label INOX.

Yep... Its not the latest Supersteel however, they are easy to sharpen & keep a respectable edge! I EDC one daily without any problem in cutting due to the steel used by Victorinox.
