Sak vs Wenger!

I prefere Victorinox too because of the lifetime warranty (I think Wenger only offers a 5 year warranty) for instance. In Germany Victorinox is also slightly cheaper than Wenger and Vic got more models. But in the end I think Wenger and Victorinox are probably almost equal.

Yep it's close for me, each has their strengths, wengers belly on the blade and vics scissors for example.
Nostalgically and for the underdog I pick wenger.

my watch is wenger but my knife is Victorinox...just my preference...kinda like my tools...I prefer Snap-on just how I was raised but Mac/Matco are just as good....but name means alot too....history,warranty...etc. knives, tools, gun, etc....

Wenger! I think people just like the Vic name and symbol better so they go that route, their practically identical though

and their both SAK's by the way, and they have both been around since the 1800's so you cant go wrong either way

Since they are both the same company, find the one that fits you. I personally like them both and own both.

Still wish you could custom order your own.

wow, imagine getting your vic or wenger custom! what a dream....
I know people do it on the side but you pay for it!

Long time ago, I only knew Wenger.

then pretty suddently, Wengers disappeared, and everyone had Victorinox knives.

Although I've not seen a Wenger for quite a while, last time I checked both brands were equivalent in terms of quality. I think Wenger sank mostly because of inefficient distribution: they were hard to find while Vics were everywhere.

I have been reading that 9/11 really hurt Victorinox and especially Wenger, sales wise. But it seems (I hope) they are back and stronger than ever and I am very glad. IMHO

Overall I've been a Victorinox fan, but I preffer the Wenger SI over the Vic soldier or pioneer. A few better design points. And I preffer the Wenger patriot over the Vic secretary.

I own some of each but prefer the Vic's. Before Vic took over, IMO they were far better knives than Wenger.

I recently got my first Wenger after many vics, and I like it. Like em both.

I heard that both Vic and wenger were in business but after 9/11 the weaker company, wenger, got bought by Vic.
