Spent some time on tues on my sisters property (40 acres) I go there to practice alot...I brought my usual setup a mora, hatchet, vic rucksack...
I set up a small campsite for her kids conmplete with a large sheter (sort of a wikkiup.debris hut combo) with enough space inside for the kids to play...Than I spent the rest of the day making various deadfall triggers (fig-4, Paiute, and some new one I just learned) now I get to my point I found myself reaching for the Sak for the majority of the tasks just because the wood saw is so handy....Cut and trimmed alot of the frame for the shelter, trimmed wood for my triggers and saved alot of time notching and such..it's almost perfect....THe downside I felt like when I went to make heavy cuts wit the knife blade...and put my thumbs on the spine THere is a little bit forwar play Which I could see being a pita if this type of action was performed enough...Also if you are a sportsman I would consider a folding knife to be a pita....but to have a saw and a sharp locking blade on hand is an awfully convenient package...Incidentally after some trial using some heavy pieces of foam, some peanuts, and the cooperative squirrels in my friends yard..I've discovered that the paiute deadfall is my fav...Fun to watch thes go off..no squirrels where hurt as the foam was soft, and light enough that they were able to move it and get the nuts even after they went off...Good practice though

Pics!! Sounds great. I find myself using that little saw all the time in the woods.

I have a small folding saw that uses replacable reciprocating saw blades. I bought it to trim tree limbs when putting up tree stands. I find myself relying on it quite a bit in the woods for woodworking. There are times when the type of cut a saw makes is is the best way to get things done.

sounds like a good time riley... i bet the kids loved it... pics are good...:D

I love that you're bothering squirrels, they can be such a nuisance.:D
