SAK's Suck??

Paul Davison. Every 24 hour ration pack had a P-38. After a week if you started collecting them you could have one in every pocket. Then you would start rolling, jumping, throwing yourself on the ground as soldiers tend to do. So it didn't take long before one of them stuck you one.

Livers, kidneys, sweat meats, kippers and smoked makerel, yum yum yum. Mad cows and Englishmen. Now dog, that I haven't tried

Why does that processed cheese found in ration packs glow in the dark? Ration packs don't have a shelf life; they have a half life.

SAK has the best can opener in the biz in MHO. I have a leatherman and a gerber to compare with. SAK wins hands down.

Hoodoo,

Thanks for posting the picture for me. We get similar can opener in military too. But our consists of two parts and the other one has... guess what... a bottle opener

. I will post picture tomorrow.

BTW: Some SAK´s can openers indeed suck! Especially when the scale on the knife is too thick. Then the can opener works only on round cans or on corners of rectangular cans.

"...Dog makes a fine meal..." - Mel Gibson, The Patriot

(and it doesn't take a can opener to get to the meat LMAO)

It's not the pace of life that concerns me, It's the sudden stop at the end.

As I barely remember it, the Lewis and Clark Expedition became quite fond of dog to the point that the Indians made fun of them. This almost led to a fistfight between either Lewis or Clark (I can't remember which) and one of the Indians.

I get some pleasure from finding a relentlessly peaceful use for a combative looking knife.

Re P38s - I bought 15 of them today. They are marked US Speaker. I don't know if they are knockoffs. If anybody would like one, email me at grumpypig@yahoo.com. You will need to send me .75 when you receive it (.38 for the opener, .03 tax and .34 postage). It will be another .34 if I need 2 stamps. I only check my email about twice a week so it may take awhile for me to get it to you. Sorry but I will only mail these to the continental US.

Moderator - I hope it's OK to post this here. I'm only charging what I paid.

Hey Frank,
That's the same kind I have. I bought them on ebay from some "military hq" place in hawaii. Anyone have any idea what U.S. Speaker is?

I don't often have to open cans anywhere but the kitchen, and then the clamp on kind work best for me. The one I have even holds on to the lid so once you've cut it open the top won't push down or fall into the can. So what do I use P-38's for? Well, besides being prepared, they are great for fidgeting (provided you don't stick yourself).
