SAKs VS. Multi-tools

I haven't carried a SAK since I got my first multi-tool. There's just nothing a SAK could do that my Supertool 200 can't. I see multi-tools as the next step in the evolution of SAK's.

I have never encountered a plier tool that opened with a resounding "snap!!".
Then you might wnat to try the Leatherman Juice then. Everything on my CS4 (Blue) except the corkscrew does snap open ;)

I like both. I daily carry a Leatherman Pulse in my waist pack, and in my watch pocket a Victorinox Classic, in the right pocket a Leatherman Micra, and in left pocket, a Vic Soldier.

Each has its advantages and disadvantages. The Leatherman is a little stronger, but the screwdrivers don't fit into all screws; whereas the large screwdriver on the Soldier has fit into screws the Leatherman could not. The pliers on the Pulse are also good for little day-to-day things: Undoing knots, pulling jammed, bent-up staples from my stapler, as well as the usual pliers jobs.

The bottle opener on the Soldier (or any Vic SAK) can also be used to pry open certain types of stubborn pull-off lids in the same manner as opening a bottle. I like the can opener on the Vics best. The tools are quicker/easier to access on SAK's, that's why I rarely use the other tools on the Pulse. Also, I just drop the Soldier (and Classic) in my pocket and hardly notice them. Of the Leathermans I own, only the Micra shares that advantage. And the Vic little scissors are better for light, precision cuts, but the Micra's scissors are better for tougher cutting chores.

I must admit that the so called can opener/bottle opener in my Juice CS4 doesn't open cans easily....
It just couldn't punch open the can on the first stroke easily.... anyone know how to properly use that can opener?
