Its the only can opener / cap lifter in my house , opening bags of cat an dogfood , removing splinters , whittling , stripping wire , minor running repairs , as a steak knife , as a hole starter , the list is endless .
Dude, the can opener is good in a pinch, but there are far better dedicated tools out there. Don't make your life any more difficult than it has to be. Save your time for more important things, like sharpening your other knives, or F5ing at the BCS.
I always carry my small SAK Rambler on my keychain. Its minute scissor, micro screwdriver/ caplifter, tweezer and toothpick always come in handy. I recently retired my OD green German military issued one handed Trekker. I use to carry this when I went on short days of outing in the fields/ woods with friends and kids. It was only used as a JIC (Just In Case) tool. My friends an I always have our own blades on our persons and another in our waist/ back packs. Now I recently obtained a black handled One Hand Trekker. I always felt that a good wood saw and a serrated blade is necessary as a backup tool JIC. FYI, this recent model has an almost completely round hole opener! Not the semi crocodile eye shaped one from past models. The ease and comfort of opening is much better than the one eyed croc. The German issued version does not contain the tweezer nor the toothpick.
