This is my top must have Spyderco for 2012...So Far:D

Love all the Centofante/Spyderco knives, especially the originals, what this model is based on.

I know the supposed release was mid to late January, any new info on this one?

Sal??

Thanks!!!

Oh wow. I had dismissed this knife as one I wouldn't even like until I just saw those photos. That thing is screaming for a Blue anodized low-rider STR Clip.

Also, it would be awesome if it was a frame-lock, but I rather like it how it is.

I've always wondered on models like this one - why the screws aren't backwards - with the screw-heads on the inside of the liners so you don't see the screw-holes in the prettier parts of the scales (or in this case, inlay).

Last we heard from Spyderco, the release date had been pushed back to March.

Just a guess, but I'd think if you did it that way you'd be depending on threads in the scale to keep in in place while threads in metal are much less likely to strip. Of course that still raises the question of why not use double stick tape and eliminate the screws altogether. That's how Chrs Reeve attaches the inlays on Sebenzas and Mnandis.

Say what!? CRK uses double sided tape? Amazing.

Spyderco definitely has their shit together when it comes to product releases and building anticipation.

Agreed. Benchmade needs to show prototypes as well...would certainly create buzz and excitement. I think Benchmade plays it way too safe...

Hi Thieves,

Sorry to say we had some problems in QC that will have to be corrected. We met with the maker in Seki and we've figured out a solution. We're in the process of makng the corrections. The knives had to be sent back to Seki. I'll keep you posted.
