Just curious if you guys sold the knives that didn't pass your QC for a discounted price? I think they would make fun projects. Stuff like misaligned blades, knives with scratches or discolorations, etc.

If you don't sell them, may I ask what happens to them?

They have an annual seconds sale that just took place not too long ago.

Spyderco seconds are marked with an indent or notch always in or about the same place on the blade as pictured here in this pic.

Same response as above but I think they only sell them at the store itself, not online.

That is correct. We have an annual "Seconds Sale" in SFO. It's listed in the newspaper each year and I announce it on our website and forums, but none of the product is listed online.

Thanks for the info, looks like it will be hard for me to buy any of these.

Not that hard. After annual sale some of them will show up on e-bay. For some reasons, sometimes, some sellers even forget to say this is second. So watch for notches on the pictures. I bought one of them, seller, actually it was reseller was not aware about it and took it back, even paid for shipping. I was lucky.

If any one hase informatio as of where and when this sale happens please advise?
I live in SFO and would like to check it out.
Thanks

Well if you live in SFO, it should be easy to just listen to the other employees bustling about....:D

However I'm certain you meant something else. It happens at Spyderco Factory Store, announced in the local newspaper per Taz in this thread and is also announced on the website and perhaps here as well.

Here is to waiting a year for next one. ;)

Cool. What is it like to live in an airport?

SFO in this case is the factory store. ;) Probably stands for Spyderco Factory Outlet...

Kind of like staying at The Mandalay Bay on the strip. Planes taking off and landing above you.Have you ever seen the Tom Hanks movie? It's very similar except my house is soundproof, and I don't need to go far to catch a flight.LAS =Las Vegas McCarran International Airport
Airport Code: LAS

Probably fewer strippers, porn stars, and hookers at your house though...:D
