Sal,
I have a number of types of sharpening tools ranging from a classic Oregon bench stone (same as Norton but non-oil impregnated), Edge-Pro Apex-1, Spyderco Tri-Angle system, to an ultrafine 1200 grit Spydeco bench stone.
This fall I tried to obtain a 600 grit fine 8" Spyderco bench stone as well as a few pocket flat ceramic stones in medium and fine. All the retailers I contacted were out of stock and unable to get stock from their distributors. One told me that he understood that these were made for you by Coors and that there was some kind of production delay such that stock wouldn't be available until this spring.
Could you shed any light on what I was told regarding who makes your ceramics and if they (especially the 8" bench stones) are in fact in short supply?
Appreciate it!
