Was the list of discontinued models supposed to be public 15.10.2001? (10-15-2001 expressed in way you in USA use)

Which are the discontinued models?

Tommi,

I have no knowledge of what is discontinued but I did notice something on the Spyderco web site that was new to me (although perhaps not to others?):

The Tim Zowada collaboration is now available in PLAIN EDGE and the steel is now VG10 rather than AUS-8. This knife is now much much more attractive to me and I will be acquiring one soon. Cheers! -Alan

Yes, the technical improvements to the Zowada are welcome. However, if you haven't seen or held the bead-blast micarta, I suggest you get a closer look before you buy.

I got to handle one recently at a knife show, and I can't say that I like the scale material at all.

Architect,

Thank you for your comments about the revised Zowada. My guess is that I would like the bead-blast micarta although I doubt I will see one in person before purchasing as the custom-collaboration Spydercos are rarely stocked in the local shops around here.

My guess is that the bead-blast micarta would be slightly less slippery than more traditionally polished micarta. I would also expect that it would be less uniform in appearence and might see more color and texture changes as a result of use. I would also guess that scratches would be less obvious on the bead-blast micarta.

Hi Tommi. Sorry about that. Just been really busy lately. The 2002 catalog was just printed and will be mailing this week to dealers.

I'll try to post the total line up tomorrow (too tired tonight).

I would rather post what is scheduled to be available in 2002.

Hey, Sal, feel like telling us what'll be available in 2002? We're all ears.

Thanks Sal!
This info gives us opportunity to decide which Spydercos to buy first. Not that new models aren't great but some old models (that I don't have or have only one version) are too nice not to have.
