just had a question for you. and if this is inappropriate please feel free to delete. I was just wondering what knife you carry on a daily basis? just thought it would be cool to know what the people making these knives actually carry around.

please excuse me if this has already been brought up before.
 
Often times he mentions he has a prototype in his pocket. Makes sense from a R&D standpoint.
 
Hi Buckles,

Every day is a different knife. We usually have quite a few models in-the-works so there are always protos and concept models to be contantly testing.

When I'm around our mountain at home, I usually carry a Military. When hiking out in my area, I carry a Temperance2 as well as a folder.

Yesterday, I had a UK with an FRN handle. The day before a
wings Slipit that I got back from a customer a while ago. Today, I'll be carrying a prototype of the FRN Meadowlark2.

I'm in R&D, so the knives are carried and used for study. I almost always have a Ladybug with me as well.

Hey Sal, a while back you were carring a Stretch weren't you? Also if you were limited to just one knife what would be your favorite Spyderco folder to carry? That should be a tough one to answer! ;) LOL!
 
I remember when I just started on the forum I asked the same question. One thing that Spyderco also does is carry other knife makers knives in order to improve their own. That says a lot in my book.

I fondly remember a "knife check" at a N.Y. restaurant...................

Yea, I know! :D I was just curious that if he HAD to pick just one, what would it be. I guess it really wasn't a fair question. I doubt I could pick just one myself! :o I love all my Spydies!
 
Its really cool that the presidednt of such a large company cares enough to pay attention to the forums and interact with customers. It makes you feel that the imput we give on designs is actually listened to, and that there are normal people running the company not just a faceless corporation.:thumbup:
