While making this knife I developed a severe allergy to Rosewood. This is why I reduced the price to sell. I can't be anywhere near Rosewood without an Epi-pen handy!! Thanks for looking!

I think it's related to poison ivy allergy. There are other woods like that too. The rosewoods contain an extract called dalbergione. It is known to be a powerful sensitizer with respect to causing allergies in some people. The fine dust does seem to deliver the highest dosage, especially when it is inhaled or it clings to moist skin. Control of the dust is key...but if you have an allergic sensitivity to one of these allergens, it really only takes trace amounts to trigger the reaction.
Nice package at a good price

I wear a respiratory and sealed safety glasses at all times. Apparently it did cling to my skin and then went on to my mucous membranes which really made things start happening. I spent the day in the ER with my head looking like a puffer fish and then spent he following week on Benadryl and Prednisone with an Epi-pen in my back pocket at all times! It was pretty crazy and I hope never to have that reaction again! The web spaces of my hands were pretty intense there for a while too. They are just now completely better and the reaction was in early October.
Thanks for the info! That's more than then ER physician could provide!
