Sale of huge collection sought

I have re listed the original post as my dues have been paid (Hopefully no more problems eh Ken?)

A quick message pointing out the errors of my ways would of been more appreciated than the 'WARNING' I received, but what the 'eck eh!

Change my user group??

Despite the suspician I have aroused I really am here for some (hopefully) sound advice, I am pretty much a fish out of water re: knives. It was my Uncle who was the collector and I have now become his beneficiary ...... lets hope ownership doesn't turn into a nightmare!

BFC has been burned by situations like yours in the past so pardon me if I'm not all happy to see it again.

The warning was the message. I can't send PM's to a basic user as that option is allowed to them.

It is in the header section of the membership page, you know how to read:

You may choose to be identified as a member of the following groups
User Group User Title
Default Registered User Identify me as a member of this group
Platinum Member
Platinum Member Identify me as a member of this group

We would like to help you, but you have to have the ability to help yourself.

Best Regards,

OK, it seems a new member comes here to be insulted.... Thought I could read but hey ho..... you boys enjoy your games now!

You didn't make a very good first impression.

I would also suggest splitting the collection up into several groups and soliciting the appropriate sellers for various items. I have a lot of experience doing this type of thing so feel free to drop me a line. You will need to move the knives to US Dealers to get the most bang for your buck.

Phil, click here to change your usergroup.

You'll also need to either set your camera to "macro" mode and get a clear shot of the markings or type what they say. A couple look like Bagwell knives, but I can't see the markings.

As a non-US member, Philby couldn't have used the automatic system to pay for his membership. Until/unless Spark activates him, he remains a registered user and would not have the ability to change his usergroup.

His membership is active.

Ken C, As the original post is now 100% your work do you wish to entirely take over this thread?

Can you also remind me what advantages I now susposely have after stumping up the $?

Ken is just doing his job here. Being new you're not aware, but we have had threads started like this in the past that ended with members being scammed out of lots of cash. Not saying that's the case here, but that is why certain rules are in place and have to be followed. Ken is not doing this for fun. He puts up with a lot more crap than most us would because he cares about the business and the community. Don't take it personal.

Don't panic,I do not see any major dollar pieces in those pics
Dave
hope that helps a bit

Philby, for what it is worth, Dave Ellis is one of the top purveyors of high end custom cutlery in the United States.

Hi STeven,

Then again he only showed about 10 knives. Most older, probably from lesser known makers.

Usually collections that big (especially ones that have a fair amount of factory knives in them) that come up for sale are made up of predominately lesser known makers. As if it was a collection of top makers, I suspect the original owner would have left some kind of information as to the value of the collection.

It was nice to see some of the "cherry pickers" come out early. :D
