As many know, especially Randall aficionados. Rhett Stidham was quite a knife collector. He passed away in 2011 IIRC.

At least some of his collection fell into the hands of an eBay seller whose wildly inaccurate descriptions have amused me for months. Now this:

VINTAGE CUSTOM MADE FIXED BLADE COMBAT STYLE KNIFE WITH CUSTOM LEATHER SHEATH

The knife is the Japanese factory knife given away by Guns and Ammo for subscribing to that magazine. It is loosely based on what Elmer Keith (of .44 magnum fame) thought a hunting knife should be like.

It is, however, a "fixed blade" "knife."

Rhett would probably find it all amusing except that the flogger uses Rhett's name on every phony listing.

I've spoken with this seller about his auctions on several occasions - he seems like a nice enough guy, but sometimes doesn't like to hear what he's being told... *shrugs*

There is some serious junk posted that bear Rhett's name, I find it hard to believe they were part of his estate. That Rostfrei butter knife for example, what a POS!!!

There's a lot of junk on eBay right now that claims to be from his estate. If you ever feel the need to overspend on a junky Chinese or Pakistani gas station knife, It's a treasure trove.

Typical eBay descriptions. 33% lies 33% WAGs 33% somewhat accurate. Watch your 6.

I've been watching those too. So far the ridiculous pricing strategy has kept me on the sidelines and enjoying the show.
