i wouldnt have considered the tenacious a 'hunting knife' instead of a 'pocket knife'

and you bring a good point j.mattson. if i never would have found online knife communities i don't think i would have ever bought a spyderco or benchmade, and i'c be buying way overpriced or crappy knives at walmart. a lot of people have no idea those companies even exist, and couldnt fathom paying over $100 on a knife, because they don't know the difference and don't care. just like many people spend their whole lives buying beater cars because they don't care.

Awesome, the best selling SAK is the SwissMemory 128 MB USB Storage Device

pretty sure this all goes by what is used in the search. So if htey search pocket knife and buy a SEAL PUP, the purchase goes under the pocket knife category. The other day my buddy bought a leupold rifle scope and wound up getting 3 ring tab dividers...

Amazon isn't really a good place to get knives. In my experience, prices there are usually a good 20% higher than what you'd find at another online dealer. The selection is also pretty limited.

Yes there are some good deals time to time, but for the most part, no.

There really aren't that many folks here on BFC, are there? as a percent of all knifebuyers that is? cuz that list doesn't reflect our pickiness.

Besides BF members, those who read gun and/or knife magazines might make better and informed choices in buying knives than the Amazon list provided by the OP.

Also, LOL @ Set 3 Ninja Stealth Black Throwing Knives with nylon case by Trademark :D

Actually I bought my Tenacious on Amazon because it was the cheapest price and shipping. Well it was from Poorfish via Amazon.

You know, It doesn't say whose buying the knives. Could be wives, mother-in-laws, family, friends...what, your husband likes knives..Thats what Ill get him for his birthday and now you have a weird, chepo knife from amazon. Then you smile, say thanks and throw in your drawer.:D

I think that’s happened to everyone here. Its always awkward when they ask you why you don’t have it with you the next time you see the “gift giver”.

you can always say you're afraid you'll get it scratched since you like it so much :p

The majority of my knife buying comes from either the BF exchange, or KW.com. How many users here actually buy from Amazon? I'm just wondering, as it seems to me that most of the users end up buying from online retailers dedicated to knives.

I've bought a few from Amazon when their prices beat all other online dealers. This is the exception rather than the norm though.

For the most part, Amazon/seller listings for decent knives are overpriced. For example, most of their Benchmades are either "unavailable" or listed at 90% MSRP. What a joke.

Some Spydercos and Kershaws there can be found for good or OK prices. Anything else, tough luck. It'll either show up as "unavailable" or some price ridiculously close to MSRP.
