Sales Tax?

I already have a 110 but wanted an anniversary model. I solved the tax problem by ordering from ll bean-free shipping no tax and with my Bean Bucks got it very very cheap

Tom19176, I have been having to pay sales tax lately from Buck Custom Shop. I live in Florida, but was not charged a sales tax by Buck in the past. Florida is not aggressive to collect sales tax as someone said. I have bought many knives from internet and B&M stores and have never paid sales tax before, only to Buck. I did question that from the Custom Sales person, and she just said "We have to pay sales tax..." which did not answer the question at all. I am wondering if Buck sells more or fewer knives retail that the retail companies. If would surprise me if Buck sold more knives by direct sales. I don't think they had to do this. I can buy directly from Benchmade with no sales tax. Please forgive me for saying this, but I can't stop myself.... Of my last 6 Custom knife buys from Buck direct, I could not live with 2 of them. That is 1/3 that I had to reject from the Custom shop and they did not want to take them back. One knife had the color bleached out on one side and the other was had the handle cracked on the surface layer, wide enough for my fingernail to go in and requested calls were not returned. I apologize now for violating a sacred being, but I have 8 more Customs on order and I am concerned.

New York State actually makes you pay an assumed internet sales tax based on your income. Y ou can not pay it , but that opens you up to an audit.....Not sure why Buck would start sales tax now and I hope they reconsider the issue....Anybody email or call them yet?
