Spyderco C71P Salsa Linerlock Plain Edge

Looking at purchasing the Salsa at a store online, about $69.00
Looks like a stout worker,in leu of purchasing a Urban.

Any comments appreciated :D

Great ergos, the cobra hood makes it more comfortable during use, Spyderco's best lock, wire clip feels good when using the knife but is mounted so the knife rides pretty high. Great knife overall but I let mine go because I prefer a more pointy blade shape. If you like the belly and the other design features I think you'd be very happy. The Urban / Caly 3 style knives do carry much better though.

Thanks Vivi!
I was just cruising some of the on line sites, and spotted the Salsa.
I was thinking there were none to be had, but this site seems to have some.

Quite the cost difference than what my UKPK cost..

Great little knife, stout as heck because of the compression lock. A real sleeper, would love to get my hands on the titanium version.

I have a couple & really like them. Wish the cobra hood was still around on some other models or could be retrofitted at will.

The Salsa is a Compression lock Spydie. Just like a Para or Yojimbo.:)
Compression Lock, that's a plus for sure, as my Favorite folder is the Para :D
And of course the Stretch, even though it's a back lock.

The Cobra hood is a keeper then? Thanks Rugger for the input.

I'll let you know, if I find a titanium model. :)

The salsa is a sweet little knife, the blade shape is very similar to the lava. It's an excellent slicer, lots of belly for it's size. The comp lock makes it very quick to close, and the cobra hood helps it fling into action. Overall a great knife! I have a green one by the way, very sheeple friendly.

OP, you probably already know, but in case you don't, anytime a long discontinued knife is on a website it is a good idea to call or email to verify they actually have it in stock. It can save a bit of frustration...

Been there, done that,he emailed me this afternoon, has two left.
Which means I better place the order quick like a bunny, or face disappointment. :( It seems all the boyzz that have replied like there Salsa's
So with all your positive posts, this ole bugger's going to get's me one.
Thanks Guys :D

Seems to be a flurry of positive threads in last couple of months. Most people could not have cared less when the line was first discontinued. Perhaps a salsa needs to age a bit before it is appealingly spicy.

Ditto that.

I have done the happy dance several times for this particular model to only find out it was a no go.

Sweet knife. Good luck with your purchase!

Well she came in!
As you fellas mentioned, a sweet little knife, and it sure is :D
For me, the compression lock is a winner, just like my Para's.no problem closing one handed. I also like the smooth handle for a change, rather than the G10,
making coleslaw out of my pocket. Also took the clip off, added a lanyard, rides
perfectly in the watch pocket. The store has one more left, mmmmmm?

Thanks guys for the reply's.

I love the compression lock as well. Enjoy your Salsa. It's one of my favorite knives!
