the store i normally buy spydercos from sold their last two delica 3s so i settled with a SE salt 1. for some reason, i dont want to carry anything else. the salt 1 has taken its place as my favorite of all my spydercos. even though the tip is different than the d3, its still sharp enough to penetrate anything that needs to be penetrated.

Nice buy! I completely agree with you on this, it's one of the most useful models.

I have a serrated Salt 1 that I keep in the car. I think with its thick tip it would be great for cutting a seat belt. The H1 steel seems to hold an edge a very long time. All around great knife.

Yup. It's a screaming classic.

And according to Sal G., the performance improvement when H1 is serrated (v. plain) is proportionally greater than with other steels they've examined.

The Salt I SE is one of my favorite and most heavily-used knives. So far it has been very durable, and I find the steel is easy to sharpen and takes a nice edge. Light weight is nice too - very useful knife.

Only 58g too (2oz to the backward Americans). I'd like to see Torx screws instead of rivets though.
