Does anyone have one and how do they like it?
I bought one today because it is so light weight.
I also carry a PE C07 in the same pocket.

Salt I was my very first Spydie. Just love it. Rustproof and careproof, along with ease of sharpening. Congrat on the Salt I :) .

I have had one for about 2 months. It's a plain edge, black grip. I initially found the blade shape, mainly the tip, a bit odd. Finish is ulitarian. Apart from that, the thing is amazing. I can get it as sharp as any other knife. Edge holding is more than acceptable. Easy to sharpen and the claim about rustproof, although a bit early to judge is certainly holding up. As you mention, it is also very light weight. Not the prettiest knife around but one of the most practical for my purposes.

My girlfriend and I are both extremely fond of our Salt 1's. Her knife faithfully served her through four months of almost non-stop ocean and beach exposure. H-1 really is great stuff.

Love the Salts, some of the most worry free knives I have. Please pass the salt.:)

I also really like my Salt I, but, that said, it is more for the blade steel than the specific design of the knife. Sure, it is lightweight and ergonomic, but in typical Spyderco fashion, the knife is far wider than it needs to be when closed, the tip is too blunt/rounded for my tastes, and the lockback isn't really my favorite.

I frankly don't understand why H1 hasn't been adopted into both more Spyderco designs and by other knife manufacturers in general. I'd love to see a nice lean Titanium framelock based knife with more of a spear or warncliff point and an H1 blade. How about some waved H1 knives, Spyderco? Why doesn't Benchmade come out with some H1 designs? I'd love an H1/waterproofed version of my EDC 530- already has an almost all polymer handle- just needs a water resistant Arc lock, an H1 blade and it's good to go.

I have the larger of these two knives it is really easy to put an amazing edge on
it but it needs sharpening more often than many of my other knives. I like it anyway. BP

My SO, who spends lots of time around saltwater, loves her SE Salt I. IMO the slightly blunted tip is one of the best features of this knife -- makes it considerably safer when you're on the water, and makes for an extremely strong tip. The knife absolutely does not rust, is very light and strong, and as others have said it can take a helluva edge. The only reason I don't carry one is that I can't justify having both that and a Delica wave, which is a favorite edc. If I had it to do over again, I'd likely replace my Delica with a PE Salt I. I'm waiting for a small-medium size, fixed knife in H1 for use as a dive knife. I currently dive with a Kershaw Sea Hunter with the prybar-tip blade & line cutter. That would be a nearly ideal form factor -- IF it could hold an edge and did not rust.

I love the Salt!
It is a fantastic knife in every respect.
But I d prefer the larger Pacific Salt.
