Salt suggestion

Cell phone?
This is a thread about Salt knives. If you want to talk about cell phones, I am sure there is a forum somewhere out there for you.

Read the last statement of post #20 and run along kid.;)

If you take a look at the Salt lines specs such as a Salt Saver (Basically a Delica 3 with H1 blade) & a Pacific Salt (Basically an Endura 3 with H1 blade), you'll notice the Salt version is noticably lighter (2.0 oz/3.0 oz) vs (2.5 oz/3.6 oz).

The Saver Salt is basically not a Delica, but a Rescue jr.
The Salt 1 is sort of a Delica.

Yep, the only pair where there's much of a difference in "listed weight" is the Tasman and Merlin.

Salt I 2.0 --- Delica III 1.9

Pacific Salt 3.0 --- Endura III 2.9

Atlantic Salt 2.75 --- 93mm Rescue 2.7

Saver Salt 2.2 --- 79mm Rescue 2.25

Tasman Salt 2.0 --- Merlin 2.5

Those weights are all according to Spyderco catalogs. Just weighed a PE Tasman and PE Merlin on my scale, both weighed 1.875 oz. Found that slightly surprising, expected the Tasman to be a hair lighter by virtue of the ti clip.

My new yellow Pac Salt SE arrived today. I liked my PE Pac Salt so much it needed a counterpart. This SE one has the old, coarser stepped jimping behind the hole, as opposed to the finer jimping on the newer ones. So now I can tell my SE from my PE Pac's in the closed position.

I like the scales for the D4/E4, but I also like these old scales from the D3/E3, esp. on the Pac Salt. Plus, I like just dropping them in-pocket, clip and all, like a regular pocket knife. They're so light and thin, they're not too noticeable in the pocket, but have enough mass that you can easily locate it when you need it.
