Salt water etching

So guys.
My etching formula.
I've lost count of how many items I have etched.
I use clear sticky tape, the wider and thicker, the better.
To save time I use a soldering iron with a sharpened point OR a sharpie (razor blade) insert to cut/melt the tape lines or areas.
I use an old 12v car battery as my electric solution. I also connected a led strip for extra lighting.
I made my own copper plate (+- 1"x3") 2mm thick. (My negative)
My positive sticks to the metal using a magnet for convenience.

One clear container - clean water for cleaning the cotton covered copper plate.
One clear container salt water.
And a Syringe to apply the conductive liquid straight into the cotton.

Lastly.
Use salt water for a dark tinted etch finish.
Use bicarbonate of soda for a cleaner/clearer etch finish.

Experiment - Soon going to try use a small paint roller as the etching tool (negative charge) because it will give a wonderful even etch, while also eliminating the 'dabbing motion witch takes alot more energy.

Let's try keep this information between us. Sadly, I hate to say...
The easier etching gets, the more people will be prepared to do it, therefore less money for us who make a living from it.

If anyone is interested in seeing my weapons, there are a few videos on my tiktok

I'm definitely not the greatest weapon smith, but I absolutely love it.
Have a great experience everyone, I hope this helps.
