Salt

Dean thanks for the info on the Sumac. At what market did you find it at? We frequent Nam Hai's at 21st and Garnett for our rice and other Asian items but we have never shopped at an Indian Store.

DIJ, try some Magnesium for your leg cramps. When I don't get my daily dose mine cramp up as well. Hurts ainnit? ;)

Laxmi (sp?) Spice
in the same row of storefronts as Woodcraft
& on the opposite end (N)
[& a door or two down from the Yoga storefront]
41st St, near opposite big pet store on S side of 41st
Its a small grocery, but a lot of items

 Check out the pile of cooking pots
on the south-side wall on the floor
small to large sizes
Hand-forged
deeper than a wok (potlike, but round bottom)

Might call or ask at Nam Hai
although I haven't noticed it there
but the way they're dis-organized, it's hard to say

Wado Equa Dean!!!! I'll have to look up Woodcraft to see where it's located but that's no problem. Barbie says she knows about where the store is located, says it's just down a ways from a Cingular phone store.

Will definitely check out the hand forged pots!!!! If some are small enough they might do for sending Smoke. Garden Ridge used to have the tiny three legged cast iron kettles but haven't seen them or even been there in many months.

You're certainly right about Nam Hai's!!!! We like to go there during crab season when they get fresh live blue crabs from the Gulf among other goodies.
They also stock a killer Kimchee but I can't eat it like I used to dammit!!!!:(

that Indian store is about 2/3 the way (2/3 mile)
from Sheridan toward Yale on 41st
Big PetsMart store directly across from (S side of 41st)
the Cingular store next to the Woodcraft
opposite end from Laxmi(sp?) Spice

this is just East of Promenade Mall & the Southroad development

The smallest of these pots is my best guess about softball-size,
biggest is about the diameter of a 'average' wok.
Marked with numbers from 1 to 11
They seem to have 2-3 of each size--
each one slightly different shaping.
I bought a #3 (I think) which cost $9.99
it holds 4-cups with a bit more room left.

There are some nice spindle shaped wood sticks
in a cardboard box near the pots
which I think these are stirring sticks
although I didn't get one
& should have--they'd be perfect
Especially for the smaller pots

Good soap scrub to remove machine oil.
Seasoned mine nicely by heating over stove-flame
& wiping with olive-oil to smoke for 3-4 minutes.
3-4 times,
mostly inside
Nice shiny, non-stick I hope
Worked well to roast some nuts
heats fast , cools fast
Tomorrow may scramble some burger meat
& try other items of food.
Maybe a pair of pliers to grip one of the loop handles
to move it around easily

3-leg cast iron pot

The Lodge cookware brand makes them
With & without handles/bales (either/or) iirc
New store in BA called Old-Time Pottery had several a month ago.
About $11 there.
Looked to be about 2-cup capacity, fair guess
Lodge website must be, & with detail of size.
Also saw one of these in one of the Academy sports & outdoors stores
about the same time.
Some other time saw them at the ArmyNavySurplus store
N of 41st & Memorial
