With several posts on the last few pages about the various Salts, I thought I would post a few pics of my Salt 1. It's one of the first models. I absolutely think this thing is amazing. It has been clipped to the waistband of my trunks through fishing, snorkeling , shooting fish while skin diving, picking up scallops and wading around picking up blue crabs. It's cut bait, cleaned crabs, filleted fish and prepared tinder and kindling for fires. It's pulled kitchen duty and been a reassuring companion in out of the way places. It shrugs off conditions that would destroy other knives, and rides unnoticably. Can you tell I love this thing?

Fantastic! Is there any more knife available for the money anywhere?
No.

sffar got my serrated Salt 1 just like the one pictured above.
So, he knows all about those!
I wouldn't have sold it but I wanted this black Pacific Salt myself, so I immediately re-Salted upon it's departure.....................

Those are GREAT pics man. I love the H1 knives, they have the best user pics imo.

How's the lock up?

The Salt 1 is excellent–I've been carrying it since I bought it from Jill. It joins my black Pacific SE and yellow Tasman SE, also purchased from BF members.

If I had to choose a single pocket knife, especially here on the coast, any of the Salt series would be tough to beat–I don't know of anything that gets a knife crappy quicker than salt water. But beaches and boats are prime pocket knife territory.

Also, the Salt knives aren't so precious it's a crisis if you lose one!

My EDC rotation is a Millie and a Salt 1. The millie rides on my 'jeans and t shirt' days. The salt comes along kayaking, fishing, hiking, and clipped inside my dress pants every day at work. Lightweight, tough, and pretty much bulletproof. If I could own one folding knife it would be a Salt.

Wow, Kristi! Amazing pictures of the bent blade. Tough stuff, assuming it didn't bend opening clams!

I'd love to see the Aqua Salt made with half plain/half serrated blade and a nice Kydex dive sheath.

You should check out the Caspian Salt if you haven't already seen one, that seems to be the dedicated H1 dive knife.
