I finished up the Santoku that I salvaged from the gyuto I snapped with my ignorance.
Here's some pictures of how I made the wa handle. I'm pretty sure that I overthunkit.

Through drill handle .5"

Drill .625 mortise .5" deep both ends

.625 tenon on both ends of a section of blackwood for bolsters.

I drilled out the bolster at .5" stopping .25" from the bottom. Now I only have to deal with a thin section to fit to the tang.

Another learning experience. Thanks to everyone who helped me along.
Any critique and criticism welcome.

Very nice creation. There are many roads that lead to the same destination. Sometimes more complicated is more fun to make!
