This knife looks much differently than when first made. It was a much bulkier knife designed for big game hunting. It went in the tank twice! The first attempt had a brass guard. I thinned the guard before attaching it, but did a poor job of keeping the guard square. I could not get the handle wood to fit properly. So, I ground off the guard and put on a bolster (first attempt at a bolster). I then put a handle on it. I starred at it for over a week, and my contempt for it kept growing. So, yesterday I ground the handle and bolster off, reshaped the tang, and put on new scales. I covered up my original tang stamp and etched my logo. I was able to use the same holes that I used for the guard/bolster. The lanyard hole is actually the rear pin hole on the original knife. I ground off the lanyard hole.
All in all, I am much happier with it. It actually feels quite nice in my hand. This was knife #19, 19a, and 19B!!!!!!
