First of all I would like to say that it is very difficult to convey tone/general feeling in an online post, so to be very clear - I like Sam, and respect him as maker and active member of the knife community. I like his work, and I'd really like to get my hands on one of his snazzy hammers. I believe other folks from this hammer run are happy with their purcahse.
As a maker, Sam puts food on his table with his business, so I'd like those reading to give Sam the benefit of the doubt - but I seem to have fallen through the cracks, maybe I'm going to his spam folder? He hasn't been online in a little while, so perhaps he hasn't seen my PM either.
My day job is in manufacturing, very busy and challenging work, but customer responsiveness is a huge part of the job - on par with the product itself.
With that out of the way, below is my timeline for ordering one of Sam's hammers:

12/15/2013 Hammers delayed email:
Hey Matt,
Just a small delay in the hammers. I have the handles made by a woodshop with a tool called a replicating lathe, they plug my "master" pattern handle into it, then plug in 6 handle blanks adjusting each for proper grain alignment, and out pop handles. It's a fast process but because I order small batches (regular order to them is 500 pieces, mine is 30) I get put on the back burner sometimes. Money's tight around the holidays so he had to favor a larger order over mine. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone, so I will eat shipping on all orders. Once the handles are in it will only be a couple days before hammers start shipping, right now looks like second week in January.
again sorry for the delay,
Sam

4/4/2014 I sent a follow up email as I hadn't heard / seen anything since 2/5/2014:
Hi Sam,
Just wondering if my hammer was shipped out yet? Haven't seen anything yet
Regards,
Matt
6/12/2014 I received a reply to my followup:
Hey Matt, missed your email found it when I was cleaning up hammer business, terribly sorry for the delay I somehow missed you on my shipping list. I'll get the hammer out this weekend, along with a little extra for the terrible wait.
9/12/2014 I sent another followup email:
Hey Sam,
Just following up, hadn't seen anything yet? Also, I've moved and mail forwarding is about to expire of the new address..
Regards,
Matt
9/15/2014 I sent a PM on bladeforums, just in case he hasn't been getting my emails
I've supplied as much information as possible about the transaction.
My top 3 expectations:
1 - A hammer
2 - An update
3 (a distant 3rd) - A refund
Hopefully this can get sorted out in the near future so I can update my status from "In limbo" to "Satisfied customer", and I'm more than willing to update my post to one full of glamour shots of a bladesmithing hammer. Maybe someone could give him a poke for me, we are approaching the 1 year mark since the original sale thread, thus I felt compelled to post my experience.
