same trail ......

Looks like a great day just hanging out. Gear failure always just really bugs me, more than it should! I have to find a solution for the next time before I'll let it go!

Nice pics.
That striker looks like it had it coming, but then again gear failure help our improvisation skills :D

thanks guys,I grew up in the area and it is fun seeing the changes in the landscape & sharing w/my son
Marshall(GG) told me they had a issue with placement in the handle but it has been resolved and each are tested before shipment now.

Thanks for the pics !

Striker fail huh? Those carbide sharpener ones are good , but heavy, unless you shorten them. ( you probably have one, I'm sure!)
My favorite is a 2" pc. of hacksaw blade, but I grind the teeth off so they are flat. I find the wavy, flat edge makes the best striker. I round the corner where I broke it off, so it's pocket/gear friendly. My latest fail was the Coghlan's mag. bar. NO SPARKS PERIOD!!

I saw this thread right before I left for Atlanta and didn't really have time to spare and had to go...then the W-Fi at the hotel was sort of slow loading pics so I didn't get to reply then either.

I am glad to see you finally got a chance to get out in the woods and spend some quality time with your son. The pics look great!
