Samsung Galaxy S4 anyone? Is anyone using one with Straighttalk or similar carrier?

I can't comment on Straight Talk, I'm with Verizon.

I was previously on Verizon but, they cost way too much for what I can get on Straighttalk. Straighttalk is a 1/3 of what I paid while on Verizon and now I get text messages and some data instead of voice only. That's why it makes sense to me to buy my own phone "device".

The HTC One has a lot of cool features.

I like the idea they have with the camera - 4.3mp instead of the 8mp or 12 or 13 that the latest and greatest use. Image quality isn't just about how many mega pixels you have, and if you're just posting them on Facebook or forums, everything's going to be resized anyway. The lower mp camera allows a wider aperture, which allows more light in, which means better low-light pictures, something cell phone cameras have difficulty with.

The screen is amazing. It's a slight bit smaller than most 1080p screens, which makes the pixel density an insane 468 pixels/square inch, which is the highest on the market. But given the dimensions of the One and the S4, which are practically identical, give or take a millimeter, I'd prefer the slightly larger, yet still extremely detailed screen of the S4.

I like that the S4 has a physical home button, and capacitive buttons on either side. I'm not a fan of the 4.1 implementation/trend of putting the once capacitive (or physical) UI navigation buttons on the screen. I'm sure I could get used to it easily enough, but I like those buttons being separate from the screen.

However, on the One, forgoing physical or capacitive navigation buttons allows it to have its dual front (stereo) speakers. Of course, I haven't witnessed this in person, but by all reports, the One cranks out sound like no other cell phone before it. I think front-facing speakers should be on every phone. Almost all phone's speakers are on the back, which requires you to "cup" the phone from behind to hear things well. Sound coming from a speaker on the back almost never sounds right, be it music or a game, and changes depending on how you hold it. That's not right (if you don't believe me, play Angry Birds with headphones plugged in and you'll be amazed at the difference). Speakers should be on the front. And I don't know what difference Beats Audio makes, but the One has that as well.

The one thing that the One lacks is expandable storage, or the option of a higher-storage model. It's only available (as of now) with 32gb, with only 26gb available to the user. For some that's more than enough, but for others, that might not nearly be enough. By all reports, HTC is in danger of being flushed down the toilet, and they're hoping this phone will be the plunger that saves them. I don't know why they didn't/couldn't put a microSD slot somewhere on this phone, but this might break them, whereas the phone might make them.

If I were to have to choose between the S4 and the One, I'd go with the S4, only because of the expandable storage. My current phone is a Droid Razr Maxx. 16gb built in, and it came with a 16gb card. It's not enough for what I want, which is why I have a 64gb card on order (supposed to be here on the 15th, but I haven't received it yet ). I could make do with the storage on the One, but I'd find myself wanting more. The main culprit is games. Most apps and games don't take more than a few MB of space, but when it comes to graphically intense games like GTAIII or Asphalt 7, they take up a huge amount of space, and you can only hold a few before you're maxed out, especially if you also like to use your phone for music or movies.

I have a Galaxy S3, but I haven't used it in awhile. I switched to a Nokia Lumia 920 and I haven't felt the urge to go back to the S3. There's nothing wrong with it, but I really like the 920 better. I particularly like its wireless charging feature. I don't want to go back to messing around with corded chargers. If you want to go Android, you should take a look at the HTC One. It has received some stellar reviews.
