Nah I gave up, I knew it was in the sky cart #1 in that center tube where the string is I just didn't have the patience to wait for it to come up and get on. Call me crazy I guess. So how much was your total for trans, meals, hotel and all that? Maybe the boss should triple it.

I wa out there on a biz trip, had a few hours at the end before my flight home.

Here’s how it all went down…
Jaxx was somehow able to squeal out what that 2nd car in Jerry’s original clue pic was. And we know it has to be somewhere in that pic! Excellent… no need to ride & search every car, or search every possible spot along the way that Bossman could have stashed it. Not really sure how he knows, but I’ll leave that for him to share or not.

So I finished up the project I was working on in San Diego, ran back to the room for some pocket sized tools (ya never know what you may need for something like this) and headed off to the zoo on my last day. Make my way into the zoo, turn left and…

HO NO…. They’ve painted all the cars!!!!
Oh well… I’m here, and ain’t gonna stop there.
Now… where is that special car????

I will tell you that car 46 is gone!!! I guess all those stories of BravadOINK bribing one of the maintenance guys to pull it off the cables and strip it down are true.

Anyway… off to the Skyfari line I go. Glad Wednesday afternoon was pretty slow… but it closes at 4:30! Only 4 hours to score what no true HOG has been able to.

The operators didn’t pay much attention to my request for car #1… but my 3rd request for “mind if I go around again” started to get them wondering. Jaxx was on the phone and laughed at me when I made one of those requests. I think it was about my 4th or 5th time around that one of them said “most people ride this to get a high up view of the zoo… why do you keep diving down into the bucket every time you leave the deck???” I just grinned. Well, with the repainting, I started to believe the Tag was long gone. So, I exit car #1… stand off to the side where the operators were and tossed my first question out there… “so how long have you guys been working this ride?” A couple of 1 year or 2 year responses, and there it was… “since ‘99”. BINGO!!!! Asked tons of questions… when did you all repaint these??? “early 2007… they were orange up until 2005” I asked what’s changed… signs? Seats? ... He said seats are still the same, but we replaced all the signs because we got tired of having to replace all the old rivet plate signs that people would steal. Again… I’m sure thanks to Bravado. Then he started asking me questions…” what were you doing up there diving down into the bucket, asking all the questions… “ So I figure that maybe letting a little cat out of the bag couldn’t hurt, because it ain’t there now. So… told him of a treasure hunt with a clue dropped in Feb 2006. He laughed and said something like “and you think it’d still be there huh?” Me… “hey, for braggin’ rights, it’s worth a shot”. He asked what it was I was looking for. Double I gave a long pause… ah what the heck… a dog tag. His response stunned me!!! While saying “you mean something like this” he pulled his keychain out of his pocket and flashed a dog tag! My heart jumped into my throat and my eyes bugged out so far that they knocked my glasses off. Now, I didn’t know it was it, but dayum! Closer look and SCORE!!!! Now, to get him to give it up. Told him that it was the lost tag, and asked what he wanted for it. With the friggin’ value scratched in, he went right for that number. :grumpy: Time for some good ol’ hog treachery!!! My reply… “that was if it was found within 6 months… now it’s just about braggin’ rights. How about $40? He came back with $50, out came the wallet, and off came the tag! So there ya have it!

And now that I have it… or I should say WE have it, all I can think about is poor little BravadOINK… right under his snout the whole time.
