This is my San Mai steel with a 1084 core from Aldo. The blade is polished and etched to bring out the differences in the steels.

The handle has black canvas micarta for the bolster area and ivory paper micarta for the handle. I left some crisp lines on it, and it is still comfortable in the hand. It is contoured and sculpted and is held in place with G-flex and epoxy.

The sheath is 8-9oz hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. The knife holds snugly and draws easily. The sheath is very solid and will live as long as the knife with care.

Dimensions
Blade - 4 3/8" tip to handle
OAL - 8 7/8"

Price - $350 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it

Fine Matt, I'll take it!

My wallet is unhappy, but thats what line of credits are for.

Would you prefer to send PP invoice or have me just send you money?

Jprime, it is yours. I will send you an invoice. Shoot me your email address and I will send one out to you. Thanks
Matt

Thats a really cool handle mate. Your san mai has always been one of my favourites but the handle work with it to really make this piece unique...

Nice work Matt! I really like the way the contrast in the handle compliments the contrast in the san mai.
Out of interest what steel do you use for the outer layer?

Very excited about this. Like you guys I loved the contrast of the steel and the handle, as well as the handle shape.

Excellent knife but I also have to say that is one fine looking sheath, beautiful tooling work & stitching.
