Here is a San Mai knife I had up for sale a while ago. It is still available.

It is forged from san mai. The core steel is some of Aldo's 1084 and the sandwich layers are high nickel, low carbon steel. The blade was flat ground and sharpened to a razor's edge.

The handle is natural canvas micarta with linen and g10 spacers. The guard is stainless. The handle is sculpted for a smooth finish and fits the hand comfortably.

The sheath is hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. With the keeper strap, the knife is held very securely.

Dimensions
Blade - 4 5/8" tip to guard
OAL - 9 3/4"

Price $265 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

Thanks. I think it is one of the nicest I have made in a while. But I might be biased.

Matt, This is a seriously good looking knife. If I didn't have so many irons in the fire at the moment and another knife on order from you I would love to snap it up. I really like the micarta handle and the way it is shaped. It reminds me of the way Guy Hogue used to carve combat grips for Smith and Wesson revolvers back in the early 70's. Nothing made for a revolver has ever fit my hand so well and I believe the same would hold true for this knife. I should dig the old Model 19 out and send you a photo of the grips I think the you might be surprised by the similarity. Anyway as you can tell I think it's a beaut.

Thanks everyone. Dan, I had seen some of Nick Wheelers handles with a bit of a drop to them. Erik Markman has some similar ones. I really like how they look, so I used them as inspiration, although I don't think I came close to either of them. Anyways I was surprised how comfortable it is.

Deltablade, No the top edge is not sharpened.
